We are hosting a team puzzle competition in Chicago! Teams of up to 4 people will compete in a 500-piece puzzle race with a 1.5-hour time limit. We will have an afternoon of fun, opportunity to compete with other puzzlers, and complimentary light refreshments! There will also be a chance to win door prizes, and we will have a puzzle swap table for those who wanted to exchange puzzles.

We are hosting our first official USAJPA Sanctioned Solo and Pairs speed puzzle competition in Chicago! USAJPA is a non-profit organization that creates a nationwide community for jigsaw puzzlers and establishes a framework for competitive jigsaw puzzling events. Solo competition times will count towards your JPAR ranking if you are a USAJPA member. Click here to learn more.

The Solo division will compete to finish a 500-piece puzzle within a 2-hour time limit. The Pairs division will have teams of 2 people compete to finish a 500-piece puzzle within a 1.5-hour time limit. The top 3 winners in each division will win prizes. The 1st place winners will also win a guaranteed reserved spot into the 2026 USA Jigsaw Nationals competition in Atlanta, GA on March 27 – 29, 2026 (fee may apply).

There will be a puzzle swap table as well.

Eric from the Chicago Puzzle Club will again be assisting SPEEDPUZZLING.COM in running their Chicago division of the Super Saturday 2025 Mini Tourney #3! This is a scaled-down version of their State Championships, now with 4 separate contests (Solo, Pairs-Relay, Pairs, and then Team)! Compete against puzzlers in 19 states! New to this event will be the Pairs-Relay Contest! This contest consists of two people, completing two separate 200-210 piece puzzles at the same time, but switching every five minutes until both puzzles are completed. You can find more information at the Super Saturday website.

A puzzle swap table will also be available throughout the event.

Chicago Puzzle Club and the Chicago Wolves are excited to collaborate and bring speed puzzling and hockey together! Race to complete your custom Chicago Wolves puzzle for a chance to win exciting prizes.

Participants will group together into teams of 4 to be the fastest to complete a 500-piece custom puzzle. There will be an Adults bracket and Family bracket (family requires at least one participant to be under the age of 18). After the competition, stick around with friends, family, and fellow puzzlers to cheer on the Chicago Wolves as they face the Milwaukee Admirals!

Each participant must have their own ticket. Each ticket includes entry for one individual into both the speed puzzle competition and Chicago Wolves hockey game.

Once a month, the Chicago Puzzle Club puzzles with members of the Center for Enriched Living in Riverwoods, IL, a nonprofit organization that provides valuable programs and services for teens, adults, and seniors with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

In September 2025, we are hosting a casual puzzle meetup in Chicago (FREE TO ATTEND!). This will be an opportunity to puzzle casually, do a puzzle swap, and/or meet with other puzzlers! For the puzzle swap table, you can take a puzzle in exchange for each puzzle that you drop off. If there are leftover puzzles, you can take as many as you want home.

This meetup is open to everyone, walk-ins included. By registering for a free ticket, you will guarantee a spot and help us plan for the number of attendees.

We hosted our first USA JPA Pre-Approved Individual and Pairs speed puzzle competition in Chicago! USA Jigsaw Puzzle Association (USA JPA) is a non-profit organization that creates a nationwide community for jigsaw puzzlers and establishes a framework for competitive jigsaw puzzling events.

The Individual speed puzzle competition division consisted of competing to finish a 500-piece puzzle within a 2-hour time limit. The Pairs speed puzzle competition division had teams of 2 people compete to finish a 500-piece puzzle within a 1.5-hour time limit. Prizes were awarded to the top 3 winners in each division.

There was a puzzle swap table where you can take a puzzle in exchange for each puzzle that you drop off.

We will have different puzzles and activities available for puzzlers to do, including puzzle chess. There will be a chance to win door prizes, and free snacks and beverages will be provided.

We hosted our 2nd annual “Puzzle with Pride” speed puzzle competition in Chicago! Teams of up to 4 people competed in a 1,000-piece rainbow-themed puzzle race with a 2.5-hour time limit. We had an afternoon of fun, opportunity to compete with other puzzlers, and free snacks and beverages! Some puzzlers came dressed in a festive or colorful attire. A portion of the ticket sales was donated to Trans Lifeline, a peer support and crisis hotline 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization offering phone support to transgender people.

We hosted our first solo speed puzzle competition in Chicago! Individuals competed in a 500-piece puzzle race with a 2-hour time limit. We had an afternoon of fun, a fun competition with puzzlers, and complimentary light refreshments! There was a free raffle giveaway also, and puzzlers who came dressed in festive holiday clothes received an extra free raffle ticket. We had a puzzle swap table for those who want to exchange puzzles.

For the first time, we allowed a limited number of spectators for this event where they got to cheer on a competitor, participate in the puzzle swap, and got complimentary light refreshments.

We hosted our first speed puzzle workshop and mini 100-piece speed puzzle competition in Chicago! In this 2-hour event, we did a presentation on information about speed puzzling, tips, strategies, and more. Then, individuals practiced speed puzzling by doing a 100-piece puzzle race for fun with a 30-minute time limit. For the remaining time, puzzlers got to practice speed puzzling or casually do puzzles. We also had a puzzle swap table for those who wanted to exchange puzzles.
